Orchestral Excerpts
In 2003, Schott & Co. Ltd launch a new series of volumes of excerpts from Tippett's orchestral music, focussing on the way he writes for particular instruments.
Each volume is introduced by an experienced, indeed renowned performer, providing background information on the sources of the composer's instrumental style and offering guidance as regards execution. These volumes will be valuable for students and others wishing to prepare for concerts of Tippett's music, as well as those intending to audition for places in orchestras.
The first two volumes feature the horn and trumpet, and are edited, respectively, by Michael Thomson and John Wallace.
